A visitor, entering our clubhouse for the first time, is almost always impressed by its friendly, unique atmosphere; and his first encounter with our golf course usually produces a favorable and lasting impression. It has not been easy to preserve these characteristics. In fact, it is difficult to define exactly what it is that makes the Golf Club so appealing to its loyal membership. Perhaps it is the sum total of all the pleasant customs and traditions that fashion our way of life.

While a guest at The Garden City Golf Club, we ask you respect and observe the following Club Rules and Traditions:
  1. All guests should avail themselves to the valet parking provided at the front entrance of the Clubhouse.
  2. All guests must be signed in the guest book upon arrival.
  3. All guests are expected to use the front entrance. Jackets are required when entering the Clubhouse and in all areas within the Clubhouse, other than the locker room.
  4. Appropriate length shorts are permitted both on the golf course and in the Clubhouse (with a jacket). Cargo shorts and pants are forbidden. Golf shirts must be collared and always tucked in. Hats should be removed when in the Clubhouse and on the patio.
  5. Sneakers, jeans, tee-shirts and “flip flops” may not be worn on Club grounds.
  6. Cell phones and similar electronic communication devices and not permitted anywhere on the golf course or Club grounds, other than in cars in the parking lot.
  7. Smoking is not permitted in the Clubhouse.
  8. The Garden City Golf Club prides itself on “fast play”. A four ball match is expected to be completed in 3 ½ hours. Any group falling a full hole behind the group in front is expected to invite the following group to play through.
  9. The use of caddies is a tradition which continues to be strongly encouraged. When using a golf cart, it must only be driven in designated areas and never in the high rough.
